the piano guys where in town this weekend and needed some backup violinists, so they hit up the squad. it's fine.
we actually only played one song with them, but it was still theeee coolest experience.
they are sooo genuinely funny and friendly. they are also incredibly talented.

during one of our sound checks, one of the guys just started randomly singing and the other two joined in on the piano and cello. it sounded so good we thought that for sure it was rehearsed, until he started rapping about stuff that was happening right then like "all those backup violinists over there" and what not. it was probably one of the highlights of my life so far, not gonna lie. it was a very one sided rap battle though, because my only comeback was a fierce face and the "rock on" sign. whoops.
one night, i even got to have a slightly one on one conversation with john, the piano guy, about the #face2face they did earlier in the week. also, i may have whispered "your sons are hot" when he shook my hand after going off stage one night. no biggy. we're buds.
all claims to fame aside, the actual playing part was really fun too. i was front and center (perks of being short) and you already knooooow i had the time of my life. it's been a while since i've performed on that stage and i was surprised at how comfortable i was, even with 2000 people watching me.. especially the 2nd night when i was a little more used to it.
maybe i'll just keep going on tour with them and become the first girl in a band called "the piano guys", who knows. HAHA.
i can dream, right?
(i got my leather jacket so that means i'm in the band by default, right?)
your favorite backup violinist,
